Growing stuff

In addition to the cute little violas and pansies populating my porch, this summer season I also have a few new additions. 

One of my favorites is a great poppy plant that is producing yellow and beautiful orange flowers.

This one is a straw flower. I can't figure out if it's going to open up any more than this, but it does feel like straw if you feel the petals. Interesting flower!

And yet another attempt at vegetables. This box of a variety of lettuces is actually making progress. I wonder how long it will produce if I take off bits and pieces. Clearly I need to make something with kale...
