Today was a day. Set the alarm for 6:15 and headed out with dad to Statter Harbor for a morning of fishing. A little bleary eyed (aren't we supposed to be on vacation?!), but ready for catching some king's for dinner and smoking. Captain Mike and first make Kayla were ready for us and after getting all the fishing licenses we needed for the day (or in my case, a year -- can you believe this was my first fishing license - sad!) we headed around the corner and toward Douglas Island for a morning of trolling. The fishing wasn't too hard:
While waiting for the fish to bite, we had time to enjoy the view:
After getting a fish on and a little bit of excitement, everyone who had one on snapped, so we headed back in after 4 hours of nada... but it was a nice morning. There was a little sun and no rain, so I'd call that a success! The rest of the day was even more exciting - more on that later!
